Welcome to JMtakecareofU. We are six women who attend James Madison University who are passionate about promoting healthy habits for young women in college. This website is designed to promote healthy habits and lifestyle choices to women at JMU through workouts, healthy eating and everyday tips for a healthy lifestyle and college experience.
As upperclassmen at JMU, we know that living a healthy lifestyle in college can be time consuming and requires effort. However, we are here to make it easier for you. We will provide simple, healthy and budget friendly recipes, and share with you some of the healthier food options on campus. We will also give you ideas for flexible work outs, as well as tips on how to squeeze a workout into your busy schedule.
Stress is another common struggle that college women deal with every day. With classes, meetings, and endless amounts of work, it can be hard to find time to relax or take time off. We will provide some tips for minimizing stress and increasing productivity, so that you can add time for leisure into your schedule and maintain your mental health.
Along with incorporating leisure into your schedule, it is extremely important to make sure you are getting an adequate amount of sleep. We can all say we have pulled an all nighter at some point in our college career to cram for a big test or to write a paper at the last minute. This is not a healthy habit and research actually shows that this is more harmful than helpful. We will show you just how harmful this can be and provide some tips for getting the proper amount of sleep.
