Hi dukes! I’m Leah Mulvehill! I’m studying Public Relations and Communication Sciences and Disorders. I’m involved in Public Relations Student Society of America, Future Speech Language Pathologists of America, volunteering at my church and SPCA. For the past couple summers, I have worked at a gym as a fitness instructor.
This past summer I was a marketing intern at Children’s National Health System. Working for such a strong and innovative organization introduced me to the behind-the-scenes components of the miracle network hospital. I particularly enjoyed covering events with special guests, such as the Washington Nationals, to teach patients how to make healthier choices.
Since I could walk, my parents urged me to try almost every sport. I was always on a tight schedule and missing practice to sleep in wasn’t an option. Just like most college students, I know how difficult maintaining health can be with so many changes and tempting options available to us on a daily basis. Nonetheless, I have learned how to make better decisions through trial and error.
Healthy is never a quick fix. To me, healthy is becoming the best version of yourself. I’m here to introduce tips and tricks that I have learned through my experience at JMU. Let’s get started!
